More images, more clicks: the 32% figure

Our homepage says product offers with more than one image get 76% more impressions and 32% more clicks. This page unpacks that figure: where it comes from, what it actually measures, and what to do with it.

Where the number comes from

The figure is Google's own, published in its announcement of Product Studio. Google compared Shopping offers carrying a single image with offers carrying several, across its own surfaces, and reported 76% more impressions and 32% more clicks for the multi-image offers.

It is an observational comparison, not a controlled experiment. Offers with several images also tend to come from better-run accounts, so part of the gap belongs to the merchants rather than the pixels. The direction, however, is unmistakable, and it matches what every marketplace that has published data reports.

What it measures, and what it does not

The number measures impressions and clicks, not conversion. For calibration on actual sales: eBay's research across 6.8 million listings puts better photos at a 4.5% higher likelihood of selling, and Amazon reported a 40% higher click-through rate for lifestyle imagery over plain packshots in mobile Sponsored Brands tests. Single digits on conversion and tens of percent on clicks is the honest range in this field.

Why extra angles move the numbers

A single packshot answers one question: what the product looks like from the front. The next images answer the questions that decide the purchase. How does it fit. What does the material look like up close. How big is it next to a hand or a sofa. What does the back look like. Every unanswered question is a reason to click the next offer instead of yours.

Google's image guidelines set the frame: high resolution, the product as the main subject, no watermarks and no promotional text on the image itself. Offers can carry additional images beyond the main one, and Shopping surfaces present them as a browsable set.

How to fill the slots without a photo studio

This is the gap Cobiro closes. From the one photo a supplier ships, the platform generates the missing angles: a clean packshot, an on-model shot, a lifestyle scene and a close-up, each policy-ready and sized for the channel it will run on. The catalog gets its full image set in an afternoon instead of a quarter.
